Getting to know you and your skills
    • We’ll invite you to an interview with the Hiring Manager focused on our Asda Values and the key skills of the role, which could be in-person or face-to-face over a video call.
    • For some roles you’ll head to an assessment centre, it’s a great opportunity to show us your key skills. Depending on the role, this may be in one or two stages, but we’ll be in touch to talk you through the interview process and what to expect.
    • We aim to interview 1-2 weeks after the closing date, however it also depends on diaries.
Letting you know how you’ve done

We aim to provide you feedback within one week after your interview. If you have been successful we will talk through the next steps in making your career with Asda official.

If on this occasion you have not been successful, we will provide you with feedback that will help you grow and always encourage you to keep an eye on our careers site for future opportunities.

A bit more detail about everything

      Apply online

Give the job ad a good read and explore our careers site – you can hear from our Asda Colleagues on their journey, look at our values, and all the things that mean everything when you’re looking for a new role.

If we still tick your boxes (and we think we will!), then apply and get the ball rolling.

Always upload a CV and fill in all the details. For more information on how to write a great CV, take a look at our hints and tips.

TOP TIP – Make sure your CV is tailored to the role you’re applying for and showcases all your relevant experience.

      Online assessment

Some of our roles will ask you to do an online assessment. It helps you to get a better understanding of the role you’re applying for and lets us see how well it’ll suit you - as well as how you align with our values.

TOP TIP – Take your time! It’s great to get back to us quickly, but there’s no need to rush your answers – we want to get a better idea of you and your skills.

      Video interview

Some of our roles will ask you to do a video interview at the application stage. It’s a great opportunity for you to bring who you are to life from what we’ve seen on paper – and let us see your personality, along with your key skills and attributes. Don’t worry, they’re only ever a few minutes long and you’ll be aware of the time throughout the recording.

TOP TIP – Have a practice before doing the video interview you’re going to submit. It’s easy to miss the key things you want to get across when you feel nervous or restricted by time – a little practice will help you make sure you don’t miss any of the good stuff!

      Interview and Assessment

In person or virtual depending on location and timescales, our interviews focus on our values and the key technical skills the role needs. Wherever possible, we do like to meet you in person – it gives you the chance to see where you’d be working and meet your potential manager.

Top Tip – Remember an interview is a two-way process. It’s also there for you to assess if we’re the right fit, and ask any questions you have.

      Offer/Feedback

We’ll be in touch to let you know if you’ve been successful or not. If you’ve not been successful this time, we’ll give you feedback to help you move forward, and encourage you to keep an eye on our careers site for future opportunities.

We always aim to come back to you within a week of your interview, to give our Hiring Manager a chance to meet all our applicants and make a decision.

If you have been successful, congratulations! We’ll then send you an offer letter and complete some pre-employment checks ahead of you starting. We’ll make sure you have everything you need to know ahead of getting your Asda career journey.

Top Tip – Fill in any supporting documents as soon as possible! It’ll help make sure we don’t have any delays and bring you onboard swiftly and smoothly.
